In the plush surroundings of the city’s West End, the street has fine architecture and is also not far from the centre of town. It has the grand feel of a historic city centre, However, the road it is located on a tranquil crescent which is very quiet. You wouldn’t think you were so close to the Royal Mile and all the delights this place has to offer.

Every one of the one and two bedroom apartments take up an entire floor of a traditional Georgian townhouse. The accommodation itself was more like a swanky, and huge, flat, with massive a front room with bay windows. There was a miniature kitchen, with microwave, minibar, full set of crockery and cutlery, tea-making kit, Nespresso machine and a basket of snacks.
The bedroom was huge with a spacious and very comfortable bed, the night’s sleep was truly refreshing. As well as a luxury pillow menu and top quality 300 thread count Egyptian cotton bedding
There were a selection of Molton Brown toiletries and comfy robes in the luxurious bathrooms, which had a powerful drench shower and deep bath to relax in.

Service is charmingly efficient with a civilised welcome, as we sat comfortably at a desk to check-in. A gentleman in a kilt, naturally, who showed us into the room and was impeccably mannered.
They offer in-house spa treatments, private car hire, chauffeur service and Personal Cocktail Masterclasses on request. An in-house laundry service is also available.
Food and drink 3/5
There is a 24 hour service from the reception, in the next building, with breakfast brought to your door in the morning, with a newspaper of your choice.
There are plenty of great restaurants and eateries in the vicinity and the reception staff are more than happy to advise you of the top places to eat.
Insider tip
Don’t walk into the hotel directly opposite, with has a similar name, by mistake and try and check in. That would be stupid wouldn’t it…
