Pics – Car wedged into house after it smashed through the front door

These dramatic pictures show a car wedged into the front of a terraced house after a suspected drink driver lost control of it on a bend and crashed through the front door.

They found the front wall of the house was knocked out leaving a hole in the house where fire crews had to temporarily rebuild the wall to make it is safe.

One neighbour, Eilleen Davies, who lives opposite the house, said she heard a lot of “commotion” and believes “there were two people in the car.”

She added: “I live opposite. I heard all the commotion and there were fire engines and police and everything. I heard all the noise.

“I did have a lot of fire engines here because they had to do a lot of construction.

“They had to rebuild it all up because being such a old cottage, to make sure it is safe in there. The firemen had to make it safe.

“I can’t understand how the car could come round the corner and manage to go into the house.

“You’re not supposed to go fast. It is a very narrow road. It went round the bend and into the house.”
