In April, Priti Patel hailed the Rwanda deal as a “world class” plan that provided a “blueprint” for other countries to follow.

It comes after a Rwandan official said they only have capacity for 200 migrants - and are powerless to stop people from leaving to return to the UK.
That works out at £600,000 per person - with the money "already committed" and "being used" by the Central African country.
The UK High Commissioner to Rwanda even intervened, warning that security is "heavy-handed" and any deal could "cause problems reputationally".
“(The Government’s) deterrent policy of sending asylum applicants to Rwanda appears to have gone unnoticed by those who attempt to cross the Channel.”
The campaign is backed by 11 trade unions, including the Public and Commercial Services union (PCS) – which represents more than 80% of Border Force staff – refugee rights organisations and faith groups.
Sturgeon said that whoever gets the job “the change of Tory leader seems virtually certain to be accompanied by a shift even further to the right”.
