The author was giving her backing to a protest outside the Scottish Parliament over controversial gender recognition legislation.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon’s comments come as Liz Truss faced scrutiny on local radio about her Government’s mini-budget proposals.
Estimates suggest those earning more than a million pounds will have £54,400 extra in their pockets after the mini-budget.
“There is a looming disaster that is already unfolding but it is going to get worse."
Appearing at a panel event at the Edinburgh Fringe on Saturday, Sturgeon said: “He was a disgrace, let’s be honest.”
"And she calls me an attention-seeker", Sturgeon said.
