Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s husband said Boris Johnson did not specifically apologise for his mistake during her Iranian detention.
“Those criticising Nazanin have got it so wrong. She doesn’t owe us gratitude: we owe her an explanation," Jeremy Hunt said.
"She didn't come across as a victim, she came across very politically-orientated," the caller said.
"It's unbelievable how nasty and unpleasant some people are."
In an emotional first press conference, Zaghari-Ratcliffe said: “What’s happened now should have happened six years ago."
Tulip Siddiq said, in the end, it was the right strategy because the government responded to public and media pressure.
The seven-year-old was heard asking “is that mummy?” and again shouted “mummy” as her mother walked down the plane’s stairs.
The chartered flight from Muscat to Brize Norton is expected to land on British soil later tonight.
