Rishi Sunak’s press secretary said the Tory deputy chairman’s remarks are ‘not something that the Prime Minister has expressed’ himself.
Senior Tory MP Lee Anderson has drawn ire for telling anti-monarchy activists to “emigrate”.
Sir Mark Rowley accused the deputy Conservative chair of making "selective comments based on a partial understanding of the law".
The Tory deputy chairman was said to have told 69-year-old Sebastian Leslie to “come outside and we’ll sort it out”.
"You make selective comments based on a partial understanding of the law"
He made the comments as the Government put forward proposals that target beggars causing a “nuisance” on Britain’s streets.
The deputy Conservative Party chair said he will use the platform to speak up for constituents outside of the London bubble.
The comments have enraged a few people, including '30p Lee' Anderson and the Daily Mail, which splashed the comments on its front page.
