The Labour leader promised campaigner Dame Esther Rantzen he would ‘make time’ for a vote if he entered Downing Street.
In addition to announcing a range of tax reforms, the Chancellor’s speech was peppered with jokes aimed at both the opposition leader and his deputy.
“I have a duty of care and if my mistake is looking after members, I am guilty", he said.
