The Brexit minister was defending himself against an LBC caller who accused him of "lying" to the public about quitting the EU.
"Yet another lie to desperately justify Brexit from the Victorian hatstand," wrote one bemused social media user.
"When Mrs Sturgeon stands up and says Boris Johnson is the greatest leader this country has ever had, I will start saying nice things about the Scottish Government."
It comes as Jacob Rees-Mogg claimed the government parties allegedly held during Covid restrictions are “disproportionate fluff” and “fundamentally trivial”.
The Tory MP described the affair which engulfed Boris Johnson’s government as “fundamentally trivial” at a fringe event in Blackpool.
Pushed by Marr to admit it’s harder to sell fish to the rest of Europe now because of Brexit, Rees-Mogg said: “Well, I mean you’re quite right, there were some teething troubles with some scallops and so on but actually that varies considerably.”
"So glad to see Marr truly unleashed. Fearsome to behold," wrote one person who wasn't impressed with the interview.
The Brexit Opportunities minister’s post comes just as the US has labelled the EU’s response to the invasion of Ukraine as “historic”, saying the relationship with the bloc is “vital” – but not mentioning a word about Brexit Britain.
