A new survey suggests Labour could see a collapse in its Muslim vote at the next general election because of its Israel-Hamas stance.
The Labour leader has insisted that he was "not saying Israel had the right had the right to cut off water, food, fuel or medicines".
The leader will take his deputy, Angela Rayner, along to allay their concerns on Wednesday afternoon.
"She told me she feels as if the UK Government has forgotten about her."
She said that after initial violence her Hamas captors had shown “care” and “gentleness”.
Nineteen organisations have called on the Government to provide safe passage for Israelis and Palestinians fleeing the conflict.
The letter calls for an ‘an immediate ceasefire and the opening of Gaza’s crossings to allow humanitarian aid to enter unhindered’.
Israel has vowed to crush Hamas but has given few details about what it envisions for Gaza if it succeeds.
Chants included “Judaism yes, Zionism no, the state of Israel must go”, and “5, 6, 7, 8, Israel is a terrorist state”.
