Rayner said she "rebutted" the story "instantly" - but the Mail on Sunday published it anyway.
"This is just beautifully done," wrote one person who enjoyed reading the 'leaked' Whatsapp messages from the Cabinet.
She was also puzzled over the picture used to illustrate the article, saying: “It was a John Lewis tailored dress – for me that’s quite posh.”
