Gary Lineker says Leicester City should have built a statue honouring Claudio Ranieri – not sack him, following news that the Italian has been ousted just months after winning the Premier League with one of history’s all-time underdogs.
The Italian leaves the King Power Stadium with the Foxes just one point above the relegation zone after a dismal title defence left them in danger of the drop.
And although a statue may be a big ask, this mural painted by Richard Wilson, a van driver from Wembley, will remain in honour the manager’s achievements.
Take a bow Ranieri – you did the city proud.
