Here’s Johnny…Coming Soon?

By Sean Simara  @Sean_FootyMad  @TLE_Sport

Brian Hoyer has been given what could be his last chance as starting QB this Sunday as he tries to guide the Cleveland Browns to the play-offs.  His opposite number in Sunday’s game will Andrew Luck for the Indianapolis Colts.  The Browns who are currently 7-5 knows a loss could end their push for a play-off spot this year.  The repercussions for  Hoyer could be more damaging.  The Johnny Manziel (Browns’ youthful QB prodigy) cloud is gathering over Cleveland and the NFL.  Hoyer was pulled in the Browns’ last game against the Buffalo Bills early in the 4th quarter, which gave Johnny ‘Football’ Manziel his first real taste in the NFL (he had a cameo role in Week 3).

Manziel did complete a 10 yard run for his first NFL touchdown, but couldn’t turn the scoreline around.  Nevertheless is the NFL ready for Johnny?  He’s confident, he always has been and he has said that whenever he is called upon he will be ready.  Hoyer has guided this Browns side to the best record at this point in a season and will feel he still deserves the starting role, but the Manziel bandwagon could be too hard to stop.  He was the poster boy of college football at Texas A&M Aggies for his skills on the field and sometimes his antics off  it.

His ‘money sign’ celebration is well know; he hangs with the biggest NBA star in the world Lebron James; it looks like it’s a matter of time to when Johnny Football becomes a bigger name and a bigger star in the game.  The pressure is on Hoyer to deliver as he knows not only the Browns fans will be on his back calling for the youngster if they start poorly on Sunday, but most of the NFL are eagerly waiting to see Manziel again.

He’s a young exciting risk-taker, and I think the first round draft pick will get his moment sooner rather than later.  If the Browns are losing be sure to see the number 2 jersey warming up on Sunday and if he leads them to a win, then maybe a new start of the NFL will be born.
