In her first appearance in front of parliament as equalities minister, Kemi Badenoch attacked the publisher of an LGBT+ publication.
Labour’s shadow culture secretary Lucy Powell described the comments as "shockingly tone deaf".
Critics, including numerous international rights organisations, said the measures served to stigmatise LGBTQ people and conflate them with paedophiles.
"Why do we need Pride? Because people still feel the need to protest our existence."

Warwick University’s LGBT group, Warwick Pride, said Nadhim Zahawi ‘plays a significant role in institutional transphobia’.
