 By Steve Taggart

The first annual Dubai Property show takes place at the  London Olympia from February 27th-March 1st. The free event will host over 120 exhibitors, offering private islands, beach resorts and luxury villas.

Dubai is now the Brit’s third most preferred destination to invest in, and this three-day show will offer prospective buyers direct access to every part of the regions real estate industry, from consultants and brokers to developers and marketing agents.

A bustling metropolis and poised to take advantage of a revival of fortunes, Dubai is the favoured destination for Britons looking to live, work and invest long-term. According to the Dubai Land Department, British investors were in second place for foreign investment (second to India), with 3,747 transactions worth Dh9.318 billion (approx. £1bn) in 2014.

Last year, the UAE was selected to host the World Expo in Dubai in 2020, making it the first time that the cultural exhibition is staged in the Middle East. Drawing global attention, the Expo 2020 Dubai is expected to attract 25 million visitors, 70 per cent of whom will be from overseas.

Most recently, Dubai International Airport overtook Heathrow as the busiest airport in the world. A total of 68.9 million passengers passed through DIA, compared with 67.8 million at Heathrow, as of December 22nd 2014, again testifying to the rapidly growing popularity of the region and the incentive to invest.

HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of Dubai Land Department says: “Our participation at the Dubai Property Show in London plans first to show the civilized honorable image of our country, our history and our heritage in one of the important cities in the world.
