Best and worst office views: the competition has begun

By Bea Patel, TLE Property Editor and Director of Shop for an Agent, the estate agent comparison site

Procrastinating… Thinking… Daydreaming?

Ever gazed out of the office window? Ever actually thought about what you see? Is it inspiring or an eyesore?

At some point in time, many of us have gazed out of the office window – some of us may have more than one office view. But have you actually thought about what you see and contemplated what it’d be like to overlook a different view? Ever thought about what others see from their office window? The opportunity may have surfaced and now could be the time to share your workplace view with the world.

Best and worst office views: the competition has begun

Online gaming site MobileSlots.com has launched a competition to find the best and worst office view. The competition has generated worldwide interest as people reach for their phones to take photos of their workplace view. Up for grabs for both the best and worst photo is travel vouchers to get away from your view, or to find another stunning outlook to gaze upon.

With a selection of stunning and depressing views from workplaces already received, some of us may be blessed with an inspiring view and others not. From barred windows to grey landscapes, the entries for the worst office view so far have been depressing.

On the nicer side, a full-time scuba diving instructor sent a picture from the harbour in Mexico with the caption “just another day at the office.”

Some other photos included stunning views over London’s dramatic skyline and even a cathedral right on someone’s doorstep.

A spokesperson from MobileSlots.com said: “We’ve all procrastinated a bit at work by looking out of the window, but you don’t always get the nice view you hope for.

“We’re there everyday so we get used to our surroundings, but it’s great to have a laugh about an office view that looks straight out onto a brick wall. The more banal the better for the worst office view – we’re looking for truly disheartening views.

“Some people are luckier and work in amazing locations with awe-inspiring views. We’d love to see those as well, even if it’s not your typical work place – be creative!”

MobileSlots.com will publish shortlisted photos on their website. Judges from the company will pick the winner.
