Templeton loses Carlos Hardenberg – Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust says that, with immediate effect, Mr. Chetan Sehgal, senior managing director, director of portfolio management overseeing the global emerging markets strategy at Franklin Templeton, has been appointed lead portfolio manager of Templeton Emerging Markets. They say that he will be further supported by an experienced team of over 80 dedicated emerging markets investment professionals located across 20 offices around the world.
On 31 January 2018, Mr. Carlos Hardenberg gave notice of his resignation from Franklin Templeton Investment Management Limited. He will continue as a portfolio manager until 31 March 2018.
A 22-year veteran of emerging markets investing, Mr. Sehgal has been a portfolio manager and senior research analyst for the company for the last two years, working closely with Mr. Hardenberg. The announcement says that, during that time, Mr. Sehgal has been a key contributor to driving the company’s out-performance through in-depth research and investment execution decisions. The investment manager will continue to adhere to the time-tested Templeton investment philosophy of bottom up, long-term, value oriented emerging markets investing.
