Penny Mordaunt managed to demand that people ‘stand up and fight’ no fewer than 12 times in a bizarre conference speech.
Channelling her inner Margaret Thatcher, the Leader of the House of Commons left delegates, who were sparsely seated in the audience, both roused and confused, which is a bit of a hazardous mix.
Addressing the conference, she said, “stand up and fight for the freedoms we have won against socialism, whether it is made of velvet or iron.”
