Liz Truss has attacked Sinn Fein politicians in Northern Ireland for trying to “drive a wedge” between Northern Ireland and Great Britain.
The foreign secretaty and frontrunner to become the next prime minister of the United Kingdom hit out at the Irish republican party for causing “constitutional division”.
In a wide-ranging assault on the devolved leaders, she also accused the SNP of being preoccupied with the issue of independence.
She said she would govern for the whole UK “family” if she gains the keys to No 10 in comments that have been widely derided on social media.
