The Sky Sports star said he was "furious" with the prime minister - and called for a change in leadership.
He called on people to gather to stand up for truth and integrity in our democracy and against the "scoundrel and his disciples".
"Now is the time to get this guy out of No 10 and start to bring some standard back into politics in this country."
"Gary Neville subbed on for Marcus Rashford today as leader of the opposition," said one Twitter user.
The PM is set to convene G7 leaders on Tuesday for “urgent talks” on the situation in Afghanistan.
The outspoken Sky Sports pundit has reportedly discussed "shared political interests" with the Labour leader.
Not one to shy away from making his political opinions known, he grasped the opportunity to take a swipe at the PM.
"Looking at that man (Southgate), he’s everything a leader should be, respectful, humble, he tells the truth."
