Windrush campaigner Paulette Wilson died, aged 64, just weeks after delivering a petition to Downing Street calling for action to address the failings that led to the scandal and demanding swift compensation for victims.
Since the previous set of figures was published last month, five more claims have been made on behalf of victims who have already died.
A total of 1,392 claims were made to the scheme by the end of June and £755,110.88 has been paid out to 110 people, just 7.9%, according to the department’s figures.
Paulette Wilson, who died unexpectedly aged 64 on Thursday, was a “precious gem” who was “broken by the Government”, according fellow campaigner Patrick Vernon
The concerns were discussed with Home Office officials on Wednesday.
The Home Office said £362,996 has been paid out from the fund which totals at least £200 million, with offers valued at £280,000 also made.
The Home Office demonstrated ‘institutional ignorance and thoughtlessness’, a report found.
