The Lib Dems came third in the seat in 2019 and would need a swing of 23.6 per cent to win in a by-election.
It has been suggested that Dorries is in line for a peerage, as part of Mr Johnson’s resignation honours list.
The Sun reported details of some of Johnson’s comments, set to be aired on the former culture secretary’s new Friday night talk show on TalkTV.

The Boris Johnson ally launched a bitter attack on Rishi Sunak amid reports the Government is set to drop its plans to privatise Channel 4.
