It appears Mhairi Black is at it again, still only 22-year-old but is already a Commons legend, after many speeches that make the hair on back your neck stand on their end, no matter what side of the political divide you are on.
When elected in May 2015, she was just 20 years and 237 days old. The youngest MP in the house but her age has been no obstacle to making a name for herself and fighting against Tory austerity.
Now the SNP MP appears to make some harsh comments against Tory MP Caroline Nokes during a session in the Commons regarding the withdrawal of housing benefit for people aged between 18 and 21.
Miss Black says: ‘The Scottish Government cannot reverse the cuts, or provide an exemption for Scotland.
‘Does the minister agree that it is simply ridiculous that young people should suffer purely because this government is obsessed with imposing austerity?’
Miss Nokes hits back by saying: ‘The Scottish Government already has a wide range of powers which would enable them to alleviate the changes being proposed here.’
Miss Black can be seen mouthing disapproval at Caroline’s comments, leading many Twitter users to speculate that she used some rather unparliamentary language.
Katie McGarvery wrote: ‘Not much of a lip-reader but definitely mouthing, “you talk s***e, hen”.’
Another user called @Scottishlass said: ‘Lip reader here, it’s ‘dinnae talk s**** hen”.’
