A teenager was stabbed in the neck in broad daylight by three men who jumped out of a BMW and attacked him as he walked to college at lunchtime on Tuesday
Shocked eye-witnesses described the men armed with knives jumping out of a grey car before launching the attack less than a mile from where sixth former Jodie Chesney, 17, was stabbed to death earlier this month.
The victim of the latest stabbing and his pals managed to take refuge inside Havering College in east London, leaving a trail of blood up to the gates.
An air ambulance landed on a field at the college and flew the lad to hospital. He was said to be in a “stable” condition.
At the college, a policeman kept watch by a cordon, while purple ribbons were seen tied to the fence.
The ribbons are a symbol to murdered Girl Scout Jodie Chesney, 17, who was stabbed to death on the night of March 1st.
One female student said of the latest knife attack: “I saw them drive up fast – there was two white boys and a black boy.
“They all got out of the car and they all stabbed him. He was on his way to a lesson at Havering College.
“The people that go to that college are rough, I didn’t stick around to see him. I was scared.”
A young mum who lives opposite the college said she saw the ‘teenager’ takenb into the school on a stretcher.
She said: “I was there and it was a stabbing.
“It was not inside the college, it was down the road on Tring Gardens.
“Some boys got chased and they went into the college, it isn’t life-threatening and he came out on a stretcher.
“I saw them bring him out. He was a teenager – the air ambulance landed on the back field.”
Havering College’s Harold Hill Campus decided to closed while the police investigated the knife attack.
Blood led down a hill from the college to a single police car with a small cordon where the attack took place.
A Met Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 12.22pm on Tuesday, March 19 to reports of a stabbing on Tring Gardens..
“Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found a male, believed to be in his late teens, suffering a stab injury.
“He was taken to a nearby hospital and his injuries have been deemed not life changing or life threatening.
“No arrests have been made; enquiries continue.”
A spokesman for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 12.21pm today to reports of an incident on Tring Gardens, Romford.
“We sent an ambulance crew, a single responder in a car and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a person at the scene and took them to hospital.”
Havering College was contacted for comment.
