Rishi Sunak’s attempt at a video transition has made him a viral meme on TikTok

Rishi Sunak’s attempt at a video transition has made him a viral meme on TikTok.

The prime minister has been actively seeking to reassure voters in the north that they aren’t being completely shafted by his administration after it was announced that the HS2 rail line will terminate in Birmingham.

It has since been revealed that the money saved from the project – supposedly earmarked for transport improvements in the north – is actually getting distributed liberally across the country in places like Devon, which become the lucky recipient of two new train stations thanks to the massively scaled back high-speed network.

In a bid to win voters north of the Watford Gap back, Sunak has taken to TikTok with a ridiculous video transition that has made him a viral meme on the social media network.

One person played the clip over the closing theme of EastEnders:

@samd_official I will get revenge ☹️ #capcut #rishisunak #blythe #fyp #eastenders ♬ EastEnders Theme – New BBC TV Version 2009 – Simon May

While others turned PM into DJ:

@tom__865 If you live in or around Blyth, you’re going to want to hear this. #PrimeMinister #RishiSunak drops the #beat with this latest #policy announcement. #Conservatives #UKpolitics #Tory #TheresaMay #LizTruss #NewOrder #BlueMonday #CPC #fyp #duetwithme #duet ♬ original sound – Tom

The clip has even reached as far as Iceland, who seem to have the measure of the man!
