A police investigator had inappropriate relationships with two women he met while working on their cases, a court heard.
Alan Butler, 62, appeared at Warwick Crown Court on Friday (4/1) and denied two charges of misconduct in public office.
Butler, a police staff investigator with Warwickshire Police, has been involved in number of investigations including kidnapping, robbery and sexual offences.
The first charge alleges that Butler, of Nuneaton, Warks, engaged in a “personal relationship” with a woman between October 2015 and August 2017.
The court heard he was investigating a case in which the woman had made an allegation.
He is also accused of being in a relationship with another woman in a case he was investigating between March and August 2017.
Butler was bailed and ordered to return to court for trial in September.
