Police are hunting for a serial sex attacker following reports of nine separate sexual assaults on lone women.
Officers believe the “shocking” attacks are linked and are looking for a man who preys on lone women in the late to early hours of the morning.
On most occasions the suspect approached the women as they are walking from Willesden Green tube station and tried to engage them in conversation, asking for a kiss or hug, before touching them.
Police have issued a stark warning to women to stay in groups and in well lit street.
The sexual assaults occurred between February and September of this year and most took place over the weekend in the Cricklewood area of north west London.
The suspect is described as a black man, of medium build who is aged in his 20s to 30s and wearing dark clothing.
Detective Constable Laura Avery of Brent CID said: “This a series of shocking sexual assaults on lone women and I am appealing for anyone who has information that could help identify and apprehend this suspect to contact police immediately.
“I would also appeal to women in the local area to take care when they are walking, especially if they are alone.
“Always stick to well lit streets; if possible, let someone know when you are coming home and the route you are taking and always be alert in your surroundings so don’t use earphones or handheld devices.
“If you see anything suspicious, contact police immediately.”
A 37-year-old man was arrested on July 19 on suspicion of sexual assault, and was been released under investigation.
