A manhunt is underway for a man on a mobility scooter who knocked down an elderly woman and dragged her along the pavement.
The driver struck the woman from behind as she stood at a bus stop, leaving her with two fractures to her face and numerous cuts and bruises.
He stopped the three-wheeled scooter shortly after hitting her in Colchester, Essex, before making off from the scene.
Police are now hunting for the culprit following the shocking incident at around 3.15pm on September 1.
PC Matthew Turner of Essex Police said: “This was a very distressing incident which left an elderly victim seriously injured and in shock.
“I would appeal for anybody who saw the incident and who has not yet come forward to contact us.
“It was in a residential area at a busy time of day, and it be that you haven’t come forward yet – if this is you, and you do have information, please contact me.”
