A 38-year-old man has become the sixth cyclist to die on London’s roads in just two months.
The 38-year-old man died in hospital five days after being critically injured in a late night collision with a car in Clerkenwell, central London.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision on Goswell Road at the junction with Percival Street just after midnight on Friday July 6th.
A Met Police spokesman said: “The cyclist, a 38-year-old man, was taken by paramedics to a north London hospital in a critical condition.
“He died on Wednesday. Next of kin are aware.
“The driver of the car stopped at the scene; he was not arrested.”
A 34-year-old cyclist was fatally injured in a collision with a lorry near the entrance to Battersea Park in south London during Monday’s evening rush hour.
Six cyclists have now died on the capital’s roads since May 9th. A total of 11 cyclists died in London last year.
