Peak Brexit? It “will do country good to go without food”

Surely it can’t get anymore insane than this?  BBC news filmed some vox pops to gauge what the average person on the street thinks about the potential of food shortages post-Brexit.

The British Retail Consortium penned an open letter about their concerns over potential food supply issues when the UK leaves the EU.

The final gentleman’s answer was jaw-dropping.

He told the presenter “It’s purely scaremongering. As far as I’m concerned it would do the country good to go without for a little while. Make them appreciate what they’ve had.”

We can’t be sure who he voted for in the EU referendum, but feeling encouraged by food shortages, left many on social media aghast.
