The NRA takes aim at news reporters, the media and Oscars Hollywood stars with this sinister message

In a sinister backlash after Donald Trump suggested raising the minimum age for buying rifles to 21 and universal background checks – a suggestion he had appeared to backtrack after a meeting with the lobbying group for the guns industry – their lobbying TV channel NRATV put out this sinister video:

NRA spokeswoman and NRATV presenter Dana Loesch vowed: “To every lying member of the media, to every Hollywood phony, to the role model athletes who use their free speech to alter and undermine what our flag represents…Your Time is running out. The clock starts now.”

And if that wasn’t paranoid and crazy enough, the NRA seemed to be telling gun-owners that their lives were at risk after a piece of graffiti was spotted saying “Kill the NRA:”

And as stars arrived at the Academy Awards wearing orange badges from the advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety, a fortnight after the school shooting in Parkland, Florida that claimed 17 lives, the NRA’s Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre recorded his own kind of Oscars message – which could not ahve been more paranoid, with these ridiculous suggestions – that actors were colluding with the news media “to decide for the rest of us what’s news and what’s not, what’s true and what’s not, who gets protected, who goes to prison, who gets our money and who gets our vote,” adding, “these elites threaten our very survival”:

Gun controls advocates and the families of those affected by the recent Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting spree in Florida have called on Apple, Amazon, Google and Roku to remove NRATV from their streaming platforms.

Survivors fo teh shooting spree have called on pupils from all over the US to join them on a “March For Our Lives” to Washington for stricter gun controls and to shame politicians in the thrall of the gun lobby which spent a record amount electing Donald Trump and his fellow Republicans. The lobbyists appear clearly rattled by the media scrutiny and celebrities donating to the “March for Our Lives” campaign – including George and Amal Clooney who put forward $500,000, a sum matched by Oprah Winfrey.
