Murder Squad cops are hunting the killers of an 18-year-old lad fatally stabbed in broad daylight.
Police say the victim was on the back of a moped before being dumped by a pal and left to die near King’s College Hospital in Camberwell, south east London.
The teenager was taken to the hospital after being found just before 7pm.
But he was pronounced dead in the early hours of this morning (THURS), triggering what is understood to be the 90th murder inquiry launched in the capital this year.
The victim, who has not been named, is the EIGHTEENTH teenager to be murder in London since Christmas, 13 of whom have been fatally stabbed.
Police, who believe the victim had been stabbed elsewhere before being dumped, are appealing for information and witnesses to come forward. There have been no arrests.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding, of the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command who is leading the murder hunt, said: “This is a tragic incident which has resulted in yet another young person being fatally stabbed in London.
“We are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“We need to trace the moped and also the person who brought the victim to the scene.
“it’s important we establish where the victim initially received his injuries. Anyone who saw the moped make off from the scene we equally need to hear from them.”
DCI Harding said that initial inquires have established that the victim was on a moped with someone else who left him at the scene and drove off.
He added: “Members of the public immediately came to the victim’s aid, administering First Aid prior to the arrival of the emergency services.”

A record number of 29 teenagers were murdered in London in 2008, topping the previous worst toll of 27 in 2007. There was a steep decline to 15 teenage murders in the capital in 2009.
A total of 19 teenagers were unlawfully killed in London in 2010, while 15 teenagers were murdered in the capital in 2011. Eight teenagers were murdered in London in 2012, but the figure rose to 12 in 2013, before falling to 11 in 2014.
The death toll rose again in 2015 to 19, 15 of whom were fatally stabbed. Twelve teenagers were murdered in London in 2017, all of whom were fatally stabbed.
A total of 26 teenagers were murdered in London last year, the most since 2008, 20 of whom were fatally stabbed.
