Police were called to two different Home County schools to reports of children stabbing each other.
Surrey Police rushed to one high school after 15-year-old boy was injured by a classmate who stabbed him in the back with a pair of scissors.
Kent Police were called to another school in Ashford, to deal with a brawl, and a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon.
The boy stabbed in the back Guildford, Surrey, was attacked by another pupil at George Abbot School.
Members of staff intervened immediately and remained with the suspect until officers arrived.
The victim suffered a single small puncture wound to his back and has been taken to hospital as a precaution, but his injuries are not believed to be serious.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in relation to the incident and is currently in custody.
Surrey Police Guildford Borough Commander Inspector Andy Hill said: “This was an isolated incident between two pupils at the school.
“Staff were on the scene immediately, intervened and remained with the boy until we arrived.
“I would like to reassure parents that no other pupils were involved in this incident and that there is no risk to the wider public.
“Our enquiries remain ongoing and officers are still at the school speaking to witnesses and working closely with staff to establish the circumstances of the incident.”
A 16-year-old boy was arrested following the fight involving pupils at North School, in Ashford, Kent, on Monday morning.
Kent Police have appealed for witnesses as the school head sent home a message to worried parents.
Head teacher Anna Lawrence said: “We are aware of an incident that took place in Hythe Road on Monday involving students from The North School.
“The school dealt with the incident in line with our behaviour and discipline policy and is assisting police with their inquires.”
