IDF response to Palestinians being shot for throwing stones dubbed ‘chilling’

An Israeli Defense Forces spokesperson has defended targeting Palestinians who throw stones with live rounds of ammunition from armed marksmen. 

Sky News footage from Ramallah shows small groups of youngsters taunting Israeli soldiers stationed at the main military communications hub.

They are then shot at, prompting emergency services to quickly come to their aid. 

Palestinian Authority’s health ministry has since confirmed that forces shot a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old in the village of Shuqba west of Ramallah. 

Putting the incident to an IDF spokesperson, Anna Botting questioned whether firing at the crowds is an appropriate response given the circumstances.
