Hunt for women who slashed OAP’s bag at Tube station and stole £700 cash

Two women slashed a pensioner’s shopping bag to steal £700 cash from him at a tube station.

Detectives have released CCTV images of the women, wrapped in scarves and wearing woolly bobble hats, in a bid to track them down.

They struck at Morden underground station in south London just before 1pm on Friday January 25th.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “We are releasing CCTV images after a pensioner had £700 in cash stolen at Morden station.

“The incident happened at 12.48pm on Friday January 25th.

“Two women are reported to have walked behind the victim, a man in his 70s, slashed open a shopping bag he was carrying and removed an envelope carrying the cash.

“They then immediately left the station.

“Officers believe the women in the images may have information that could help their ongoing investigation.”

Anyone who recognises the women, or who has more information about the incident, is asked to contact BTP.
