A DUP billboard running an anti-Conservative pledge has backfired spectacularly after the party teamed up with the Tories to give them the majority they need to form a government.
The advertisement features a woman giving her allegiance to Northern Ireland’s DUP because she “wants an MP who answers to us – not to the Tories”.
But it will undoubtedly come back to bite the party in the arse.
Theresa May announced today that she would be forming a government with the Unionist party.
Speaking after visiting Buckingham Palace, she said only her party had the “legitimacy” to govern after winning the most seats and votes.
She said she would join with “friends and allies” in the DUP to take forward Brexit, saying: “Let’s get to work”.
