Jeremy Corbyn suggested the Prime Minister might take some tips from Jurgen Klopp on how to get a good result in Europe during PMQs today.
The Labour leader referenced Liverpool’s incredible comeback after the reds overturned a 3-0 deficit to Barcelona in the Champions League to progress to the final last night.
The win sets up the possibility of an all-English final in both the Champions League and Europa Cup which could be played out as Britain cements its political exit from the union.
But Theresa May has had a fraught time negotiating with the EU and, indeed, her own party.
The PM and Corbyn have been working together on a compromised deal this week, although there has been no news of any headway so far.
In Parliament, Corbyn said: “Perhaps the PM could take some tips from Jurgen Klopp on how to get a good result in Europe?”
Theresa May replied: “Look at Liverpool’s win over Barcelona, what it shows is when everyone says it’s all over… we can still secure success”
Maybe the Prime Minister should get some lessons from Klopp on how to get a good result in Europe! Get in, Jeremy! #PMQs pic.twitter.com/fIZXNl3XJY
