Body found after search for missing Daily Telegraph journalist Florence Waters

Police searching for a missing Daily Telegraph journalist have recovered a body.

Florence Waters, 33, disappeared from a house in Osney, Oxford, at around 9am on Monday.

Thames Valley Police discovered the body, believed to be that of the Daily Telegraph writer, on land near Oxford Road, Thame, on Thursday night.

Formal identification is yet to take place, but the force has informed Ms Waters’ next of kin and they are being supported by specially trained officers.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Ms Waters was the online arts editor for the Daily Telegraph before she left to become a freelance contributor, writing about films, books and the arts.

She was also an artist and some of her paintings had appeared on the Saatchi Art website.

Friends and colleagues have begun to leave tributes upon hearing the news.
