Blaze at historic Primark site leaves Belfast building at risk of collapse

Belfast’s historic Primark building is at danger of collapse as 100 firefighters battle a blaze that broke out this morning.

The original Banks building was designed by Robert Taylor and built in 1785 with a redesign in 1900. The clothing chain took over the building in 1979 and restored it to its turn of the century glory.
