Amber Rudd Downing Street today confirmed is to stay Secretary of State for the Home Department. Which may be why she appeared so relaxed admitting to Parliament that there are now 20% less firefighters. (See video below.)

The South West Fire Brigades Union (FBU) confirmed to The London Economic that nationwide there are 11,000 fewer firefighters, and that nationwide there had been cuts of 20% since 2010.

Tam McFarlane of South West FBU said: “Since the coalition government came to power we have seen massive cuts not just nationally but here in Plymouth that have compromised the safety of both firefighters and the public.”
