It was a shocking and brazen knife attack that was luckily caught by crystal; clear CCTV footage. Luke Monk , 28 and an unknown accomplice carried out the sickening robbery in Co-Op store in Sawley, Derbys.
They ran into the grocery store armed with knives and stole cash and cigarettes, during the 2.43 minute video footage.
At one point, Monk, wearing a motorcycle helmet, grabbed a terrified shop assistant while pointing a blade at another worker behind the till. The criminals fled the seven but Monk, of no fixed address, was caught following a police appeal last year.
He was jailed on Thursday (2/3) after admitting robbery at Derby Crown Court. he was given six years in jail.
Jailing Monk, Recorder Allan Mainds said: “I saw the video of what took place.
“Frightening circumstances. You brandishing, clearly a substantial weapon, a knife.
“The impact, psychologically, on one of the ladies has been substantial. You took the leading role (in the robbery).”
