Tesco is caught up another Unilever-esque row with Heineken which could lead to over 30 beers and ciders been axed from its shelves.
The supermarket could be about to cut ties with popular brands such as Heineken, Amstel, Sol and Tiger if the dispute remains unresolved.
Planned price hikes in the wake of Brexit mean Tesco are stocking just 22 products, 31 less than the 53 they had on sale at the beginning of 2017.
Other brands that have been axed include Birra Moretti, Kingfisher and Kronenbourg.
A spokesperson for Tesco said: “We frequently review our ranges to ensure they meet the needs of customers.
“We continue to offer customers a great range of beer, lager and cider.”
A Heineken spokesperson said: “We don’t comment on commercial arrangements with our customers.
“Shoppers will continue to find a broad range of our fantastic beer and cider brands in Tesco.”
In October, hundreds of products disappeared from Tesco during a bitter row with Unilever over a ten per cent rise.
The #Beerxit scandal hit as it emerged that the day after Theresa May announced that she would trigger Article 50, on 29th March, inflation has leapt up. Inflation is now at the highest rate since Sept 2013.
