A builder had a lucky escape after a razor sharp angle grinder flew into his face and lodged in his CHIN.
Paul Thomas, 31, was trying to knock through a wall with a nine-inch angle grinder when it “ran up” the surface and hit him in the face.
The tool missed his throat by a matter of inches and cut into his chin and Paul was left with blood pouring from the gaping wound.
The tough builder said his colleagues “turned green” when they saw his face and he spend three hours in hospital having 33 stitches.
Paul, from Dunstable, Bedfordshire, said: “It ran on the wall and hit me in the face.
“I just grabbed my face – I knew straight away I had cut myself. It was so deep and there was a massive pool of blood on my hand.
“I held my face and walked round to my colleague at the back of the house. He went green.
“We called an ambulance and it took 25 minutes to come out. I was in the hospital for three hours and had 33 stitches put in.”
Pictures taken just after the accident show him smiling despite the enormous bloody wound on his chin.
“Even when the paramedics kept holding it it didn’t hurt,” he said.
