Police were called after a terrified woman opened her front door – and found a live SNAKE.
Officers went to the woman’s home in Evesham, Worcs., and eventually captured the animal which had slithered into her garage at 10pm on Friday (21/7).
The gritter was eventually captured and identified as a milk snake. It was taken to nearby Vale Wildlife Hospital for safekeeping.
A spokesman from West Mercia Police said: “At about 10pm we had a call from a member of the public.
“She had opened the door and found a snake on her front porch.
“We sent two officers to the scene but it had moved from the porch into the garage.
“The officers did find it and manage to secure it.
We contacted a local wildlife hospital and they have taken it for the weekend.
“We’d like to appeal to anyone who has lost their milk snake to come forward.
“If nobody claims it it will go to the RSPCA who will rehome it.”
