A man was stabbed to death in an East London street last night, taking the capitals’ murder toll to 64.
The 24-year-old was found with stab wounds in Barking after a 999 call just after 11.30pm last night.
Police gave first aid until paramedics arrived but died at the scene in Crows Road, in the middle of a housing estate.
No arrests have been made and murder squad detectives have launched an investigation.
Scotland yard said: “A murder investigation has been launched following a stabbing in Barking.
“Police were called on Thursday, 17 May at 11.31pm to reports of a stabbing in Crows Road, Barking.
“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and found a 24-year-old man suffering from stab injuries.
“He was given first aid by officers prior to the arrival of the paramedics but sadly was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His next of kin have been informed.
“Formal identification awaits and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
“No arrests have been made. A crime scene remains in place.”
