Two people arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a van ploughed through the front of a house killing an elderly woman have been released under investigation.
Joan Woodier, 90, was in the front room of her home on a quiet street in Clevedon, North Somerset, when a Ford Transit van crashed into the house on Wednesday night.
A woman aged 34 and a 33-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
They have now been released under investigation following the crash on Yeolands Drive at 8.30pm.
A police spokesman said: ”Two people arrested in connection with a fatal collision in Clevedon have been released under investigation.
”A 34-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a Ford Transit van collided with a house in Yeolands Drive on Wednesday night.
”A 90-year-old woman, who was inside the property, died as a result of the collision.
”She hasn’t yet been formally identified and a post-mortem examination will take place next week.
”A family liaison officer is continuing to support her next of kin.”
