Physical exercise is incredibly good for you in general. Whilst it can be hard to find time, all you need to do is 30 minutes of activity a day any more than that, the better. It doesn’t always have to be going for a run, swimming etc. it could even just be a walk, gardening or even dancing!
You need to try and get into a habit each day by setting aside time for it. Where ever you can find time, whether it’s in the morning, afternoon or evening, you should try and get at least 30 minutes in.
Keeping your weight in check can be a lot easier said than done, but a few simple tips can help. Firstly, if you’re overweight, your first rule of thumb should be to not gain any more weight. Something as simple as this can improve your health by much more than you think. Then when you’re ready to take the next step try by changing your diet, changing your portion size or exercising.
There’s a number of screening tests that can help protect against cancer. Some of these tests can find cancer early when they’re at their most treatable, while others can actually help keep cancer from developing in the first place. As an example, for colorectal cancer, regular screening could save over 30,000 lives each year.

Moderate drinking is actually good for the heart as many people know, but it can also increase the risk of cancer. If you don’t drink, don’t feel like you need to start or if you drink a moderate amount a day, which is one drink for women and two for men, but anyone who drinks more, should cut back.
Another obvious one, but you should focus on fruits, vegetables and whole grains whilst keeping red meat to a minimum. Not only that but you should cut back on bad fats (saturated and trans fats) and instead choose the healthy fats (polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats) more often.
If you struggle to eat your fruit and veg, you can take multivitamin tablets as a replacement to get the nutrients that your body needs.
