Call for Nominations: The Veuve Clicquot Women in Business Awards

By Steve Taggart

The call for nominations have just opened for the 43rd Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award. The award, which counts Dame Marjorie Scardino DBE FRSA, Anya Hindmarch MBE and Dame Zaha Hadid DBE as past winners, celebrates the success of business women worldwide who share the same qualities as Madame Clicquot:  Her enterprising spirit, her courage and the determination necessary to accomplish her aims.

It is the first international award created specifically to recognise the contribution that women have made to business life and is now regarded as the “Oscar” for female entrepreneurs and business leaders.

Following the success of the first ever Veuve Clicquot New Generation Award in 2013 which was awarded to tech entrepreneur Kathryn Parsons Founder of Decoded, the luxury brand also opens the call for nominations for the Veuve Clicquot New Generation Award which recognises the success and vision of female entrepreneurs between the ages of 25 and 35, with the winner reflecting the core attributes that Madame Clicquot exhibited in her formative years, such as a fearless approach and innovative thinking to achieve her goals.

The call for nominations for the New Generation Award, alongside the 43rd Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award acts as the starting point in the search for the best female business talent in the UK. This will result in two exceptional women being awarded at a prestigious ceremony in London in mid-May 2015 at Claridge’s Hotel, London.

Judges for the 2015 Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award come from a mixture of past winners, as well as industry titans and networkers including, Luke Johnson, Chairman, Risk Capital Partners, Kathryn Parsons, Founder of Decoded, Carolyn McCall OBE, CEO, easyJet, Shaa Wasmund, Founder & CEO of Smarta, Laura Tenison MBE, Founder & MD of JoJo Maman Bébé, Sian Westerman, Managing Director at Rothschild, Caroline Michel, CEO, Peters Fraser & Dunlop.

Christina Jesaitis, Senior Brand Manager, Veuve Clicquot, commented:

“Madame Clicquot proved to be an entrepreneurial trailblazer in the 1800s.  Over the last four decades, we have seen countless incredibly talented women celebrated for their achievements – now is the time to put women in business on the map.

Together, the established Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award alongside our New Generation Award prove that we have amazing talent on our doorstep both now and for the future. We want this year’s awards to celebrate women in business, create new connections and encourage others that success is achievable. The Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award ceremony will be the networking event in 2015 and beyond. ”

The ‘Call for Nominations’ will close on Friday 9th January 2015 at 18.00.  Note:  Nominee must be an official resident of the United Kingdom and the business must be based/operating in the United Kingdom.
