A collaboration between naturally fast food brand LEON and Aylmer Aaharn, Tuk Shop – a new Thai fast food pop-up – will launch this spring.
A multi-national food group based in Bangkok, Aylmer Aaharn – run by chef David Thompson – operates a string of restaurants such as Michelin-starred Nahm, as well as farming and sourcing Thai ingredients used for the production of high quality food products. This Thai expertise will be employed at Tuk Shop, seeing LEON work with a team of chefs from Bangkok, with each dish combining Aylmer Aaharn’s love of Thai food with LEON’s love of fast food.
Using the fast food capabilities and principles of LEON, Tuk Shop will pop-up at LEON’s existing Shaftesbury Avenue location in Soho. Here, the menu will feature David Thompson’s distinctive recipes, filled with Thai classics such as Mussaman curry and Thai green curry, joined by various other curries. A selection of noodle and rice dishes will also be available alongside salads, fried chicken and various dishes less familiar in London.
Tuk Shop’s operation will also rely on Aylmer Aaharn’s existing supply chain, where the majority of ingredients are supplied by farms in Thailand and cooked fresh everyday.
Speaking on the launch of Tuk Shop, LEON Co-Founder John Vincent said:
Over the last fifteen years I have been fortunate enough to experience the culture and flavours of Thailand first-hand. And fortunate too to meet and learn from David Thompson (founder at Aylmer Aaharn), whose chefs have worked hard to make this happen. I hope that in the long-run Tuk Shop will allow everyone in the UK to experience the joy of this food. In the mean-time you will have to come to Shaftesbury Avenue. Grab a spoon and tuk in.”
Tuk Shop will pop up at LEON, 62 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, W1D 6LT.
