Foxcroft & Ginger serves wonderful coffee efficiently, which is surprising to say that they get rather busy. They also serve the light snacks that you’d expect of a coffee shop, including croissants which, we must say, provide a lovely breakfast!

Located just off Carnaby Street, the Speakeasy Espresso Bar is a perfect place for a mid-day coffee-stop or to grab a coffee to end a hard day of shopping. Coffee is sourced from all over the globe and brought to you in this small shop! The Speakeasy is somewhere we would confidently recommend to even the most well-informed coffee connoisseur.

A welcome, recent addition to Waterloo has been the Four Corners café which has risen to prominence partly because of its humorous advertising through its A-boards. The coffee is sourced locally and is roasted at Shoreditch’s Ozone. They also offer a delightful range of soups and snacks as well as alcoholic beverages for the times that coffee doesn’t quite hit the spot!

This one’s perfect for any reformed mod! The café is filled with Scooter memorabilia and is one of the friendlier places in London! They have a resident cat, a puppy and a loyal crowd who are all very nice to newcomers! The lattes here are also fantastic – a minor detail for a coffee shop!

Officially a bike café, this gem in the square mile serves great coffee and they serve it fast! Although you may find the conversation is tied pretty closely to cycling, it’s a really friendly place that’s great for a quick coffee.

Weirdly, you can get your moustache trimmed whilst sipping on a coffee at Sharps Coffee Bar, a subtle hat-tip to the sophisticated nature of the place.

This coffee house roast their own coffee, in-house. They also offer coffee classes so that you can learn to make the perfect cup for your loved ones!

The Long White Cloud is a Hoxton favourite that offers coffee and art in abundance. The café has a free range menu with fair trade and locally sourced products.

Notes is a great option, with knowledgeable staff and some great coffee! Notes offers various espressos and also a brew bar that offers filter coffees.

Workshop opened its doors in Clerkenwell and has quickly developed a great reputation and has grown exponentially ever since. They have branches in Holborn, Clerkenwell and Marylebone and are well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Bar Italia is a Soho institution – it’s been there for over 65 years and is definitely worth a visit if you’re around the area. Offering kitsch setting and friendly service, it’s perennially popular amongst Soho locals.

Resisting modern coffee technology is the Tap coffee shop on Rathbone Place which prefers slow-drip filter coffee to machine coffee. They also sell coffee making equipment.

Leading the way when it came to the trend of coffee shops roasting their own coffee is Monmouth in Bermondsey. They have shops around the capital, but the Maltby Street shop is a real, weekend treat. In fact, they only open on Saturdays!
