From midday on Saturday 16th September, the ETM Slider Decider 2017 tournament will take place at Broadgate Circle, behind Liverpool Street Station.
Now in its fifth year, the annual competition will see the 16 finalists prepare their unique creations for a panel of judges and to the public. Served from KamadoJoe grills supplied by CCS, each slider will be available priced at just £3. Tokens are sold in minimum books of five for £15, with no additional entry fee.
Hosted by BBC Radio London’s Food & Drink Presenter, Nigel Barden, the finalists in this year’s competition include chefs Robbin Holmgren of Jamie’s Fifteen, Señor Ceviche’s Mark Morrans, Stuart Cauldwell of Roast, Cinnamon Kitchen chef Santosh Shah, and more.
Launched in 2013, Jamie Thickett of Opera Tavern won the first Slider Decider competition, followed by Tim Anderson in 2014, succeeded by Adam Rawson in 2015 and 2016. Once the winner has been decided on 16th September, the event will continue with cocktails from The Botanist’s alfresco Bulleit pop-up bar, while live music plays into the evening. Members of the general public will also have the chance to vote for this year’s winner in the ‘People’s Choice Winner’.
